In accordance with actual trends stability, as well as by the shape of the hull,
is guaranteed by the fin, optimised for IMS. The fin is entirely realised by
lead casting, with a steel strengthening structure. The rudder (aluminium axis)
is crafted with fibreglass and assembled with structural plaster. This high-aspect
rudder, in a very advanced position, is light and effective under every condition
and high heeling angles.
During races, the crew counts four or five persons. The boat has been realised
in eight exemplars, all of them obtaining flattering results in a lot of IMS
races. On debut, particularly, the boat reached the first place, "minialtura
class", at the Trofeo Accademia Navale di Livorno 200", and the fifth place at
Campionato Italiano Minialtura 2001 (Marciana Marina). Then, as well as winning
a lot of minor challenges, Zip 25 reached the third place at Campionato Italiano
Minialtura 2002, so demonstrating to be one of fastest minialtura boats into
circulation and practically unbeatable with a wind over 10 knots.
